ALEC TAYLOR – Communication Skills consultant, coach, and trainer

Biography

CLIENT SERVICE EXECUTIVE
Born in Ireland in 1941 and a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, Alec Taylor spent a short time in teaching and in the publicity department of Oxfam before joining A. C. Nielsen, the leading market-research consultants, as a client-service executive.

FROM THE MEDIA TO CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
His broadcasting career started in Cologne with the German World Service. He later joined London Weekend Television as an announcer and newsreader. As a professional television presenter he was also in demand as an interviewer, conference chairman, and consultant in corporate communications.

FOCUS ON CONSULTANCY, COACHING, AND TRAINING
In 1985, he founded COMMUNICATION SKILLS INTERNATIONAL (a training, coaching, and consultancy company – in the areas of business, government, politics, and non-profit organisations). Following the sale of this company in 2002, he is now operating under his own flag again.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS SPECIALIST
Alec is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and a former Chairman of the Irish branch of the INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION ASSOCIATION (ITVA). For sixteen years he was involved as a COMMUNICATION SKILLS tutor and subject-specialist on the UK Cabinet Office TOP MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME.

EUROPEAN ARENA
He is based in Dublin, and conducts consultancy, coaching, and training work with clients in other parts of Europe – in German as well as in English – as well as in his native Ireland.

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
In the last few years he has been asked by several International and United Nations organisations, such as the OSCE, the COUNCIL OF EUROPE, and the IAEA, to work with their most senior officials, focussing on their external and internal communication skills.

PROJECT multi-talent
In 2002, he set up multi-talent, which organises CREATIVITY workshops and events designed to help individuals and organisations discover and express their hidden, untapped talents.
